Squid with lemon and breadcrumbs

Ingredients

  • 3 cleaned squid
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 2 hot peppers
  • 3 lemons
  • A bunch of parsley
  • 2 handfuls of white bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon liquid honey
  • A handful of grated hard cheese
  • A splash of soy sauce
  • A splash of olive oil
  • 1 loaf of Italian bread
  • A pinch of salt and ground black pepper

Recipe

  1. Prepare the Kamado BONO grill for indirect cooking. Light the charcoal using a fire starter, place the stainless steel grill grates and a cast iron skillet. Wait until the temperature reaches 200 degrees Celsius. Adjust the upper and lower air vents to maintain a consistent temperature.
  2. In the heated frying pan, add a splash of oil and sauté garlic cloves, pierced hot peppers, and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper. When the breadcrumbs turn golden, remove them onto a paper towel and clean the skillet. Add a bit more oil and sauté the squid and thinly sliced lemon for 1-2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle everything with the toasted breadcrumbs and chopped parsley.Mix mayonnaise with soy sauce and honey, squeeze in some lemon juice, and stir well. Spread this sauce on slices of Italian bread and sprinkle with grated cheese.
  3. Grill in the preheated grill until the bread is crispy and the cheese has melted.
