Ingredients

  • 2×250 g salmon fillets
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Lemon slices
  • Cedar plank soaked in water for 1 hour
  • Marinade:
  • 1 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 6 tbsp olive oil (ideally 4 tbsp olive oil and 2 tbsp pumpkin seed oil)
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp cumin
  • 1½ tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • A little water if the mixture is too thick

Recipe

  1. Mix the marinade, immerse the salmon fillet, and let it sit in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Pour a little oil into a pan and sear the salmon over medium heat, cooking for a minute on each side, starting with the skin side down.
  2. Place the fillet on the cedar plank and cook directly over the coals (without flames) at a temperature of 180-210°C (356-410°F) for about 6-8 minutes, until the internal temperature of the fish reaches 62°C (144°F).
